Subpair does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.
How translation works
Subpair reads the subtitle text that a video player displays on the page you are watching, translates it using Chrome's built-in on-device translator, and displays the result. This happens entirely inside your browser.
No subtitle text, viewing activity, or personal information is ever sent to us or to any third party. Subpair makes no network requests at all.
Settings storage
The only data Subpair stores is your own settings — whether it is switched on, your chosen source and target languages, and where the translated line is positioned.
These are saved using Chrome's built-in storage. If you have Chrome sync enabled, they sync with your Google account under your control. They contain no information about what you watch.
Analytics
Subpair does not use analytics or any tracking.
Advertising
Subpair does not display advertisements.
Accounts
Subpair does not require an account.
Servers
Subpair has no backend and no server component.
